Unknown Microbe

This SEM micrograph shows an unidentified microbe. In creating these images, we often run into microbes which we are unable to identify. The round structure pictured above is about 5 microns in diameter. We feel confident that the structure is biological in origin. We are not able to see any indication of distinct bacterium in the sphere. We would appreciate your input if you have ideas of what this structure might be.
